How Tanks Are Made
The black exterior of a Vee Tank is not a colour choice — it is the layer that takes the sun so the rest of the wall does not have to. What UV actually does to plastic, what chalking and brittleness look like, and why black alone is not proof of quality.

How Tanks Are Made
The most important layer of a water tank wall may be the one you never see. What the grey middle layer of a Vee Tank actually contributes — wall rigidity when the tank is full, and the opacity that helps discourage algae — and what a grey layer does not prove on its own.

Water Storage & Care
Inside a multilayer tank, only the innermost layer ever meets your water. What virgin and recycled plastic actually are, why recycled is not automatically unsafe, why traceability is the real question, and what a white inner layer does and does not prove.

How Tanks Are Made
The black outer layer of a water tank is doing a job, not making a style choice — carbon black absorbs ultraviolet light and stops the plastic going brittle. Why that matters more in Kenya than almost anywhere, and how to spot a wall that is losing the fight.

Algae need light to grow. A tank wall that blocks light gives them nothing to work with, which is why the middle layer of a Vee Tank is grey and opaque — and why an opaque wall does more for water quality than any additive.

How Tanks Are Made
Blow moulding forms a tank body from one continuous piece of plastic, with its layers laid down in the same shot and an inner surface shaped by air. What that means in practice, and how it differs from rotational moulding.

Buying & Sizing Guide
A simple formula and a table by family size for choosing water tank capacity in Kenya — multiply people by daily litres by days of reserve. Most families of four to six do well on a 2,300 litre Vee Tank.
