Introduction

Astral Industries Limited, operating as Vee Tank (“we”, “our” or “us”), is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store and safeguard information when you interact with our website, our WhatsApp messaging service, our Facebook or Instagram advertisements, our sales team or any of our other digital channels.

We process personal data in accordance with applicable law, including the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 and its regulations, and applicable Meta Platform requirements.

Information we collect

We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you express interest in our water tanks, request a quotation, contact us, place an order or request after-sales support.

Contact details

Full name, phone number and the details you include in a message to us.

Order fulfilment data

Physical delivery location, address, order details and delivery instructions.

Transaction information

M-Pesa transaction codes, payment receipts or other details needed to verify payment.

What this website itself collects

Nothing is submitted to us by this website. It is a static site with no server of its own, and the tank sizer, the calculations and every form run entirely in your browser. When you ask for a quote, your browser composes a WhatsApp message and opens WhatsApp so that you can read it and send it yourself — nothing leaves your device until you press send. What we then hold is the message you sent, kept in WhatsApp under Meta’s terms as well as this policy.

Information from Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp

When you contact us through Meta services, we may receive information that you submit through a lead form or message, together with limited interaction information made available by Meta, such as the advert or campaign through which you contacted us.

Website and device information

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and move around it — which pages are read, roughly where visitors are, and what kind of device they use. It sets cookies in your browser to recognise a repeat visit and sends that information to Google, who process it on our behalf. We use it to see which tanks and pages are of interest so we can improve the site.

We set no advertising cookies of our own, and we embed no social media trackers. We do not combine analytics data with the enquiries you send us. You can opt out by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies for this site in your browser. The site works normally either way.

Our hosting provider may also process limited technical data such as IP address, browser or device type and pages requested, in the ordinary course of serving the site and keeping it secure.

How we use your information

We use personal information only where we have a lawful and legitimate business purpose. We may use your information to:

  • Respond to enquiries and prepare quotations for our products and services.
  • Confirm and process water tank orders through our call centre and digital channels.
  • Communicate order status, coordinate delivery and provide support by phone, email or WhatsApp.
  • Verify payments before dispatch and handle warranty, replacement or product-support requests.
  • Maintain accurate business, customer and transaction records in our internal ERP systems.
  • Protect our systems, prevent fraud and comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Measure and improve our customer service, website and advertising where permitted by law.

Our lawful grounds. Depending on the situation, we may process your information with your consent, to take steps at your request, to fulfil a contract, to meet a legal obligation or for a legitimate business interest that does not override your privacy rights.

Data storage and security

We use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, accidental loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Data may be processed through controlled internal workflows, customer communication platforms and our enterprise systems.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to resolve disputes, enforce agreements or meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations. When information is no longer required, we securely delete, anonymise or otherwise dispose of it.

Where a service provider processes information outside Kenya, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer is supported by appropriate legal and security safeguards.

Third-party sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

We disclose only the information reasonably necessary to trusted service providers that help us operate our business. These may include:

  • Delivery and logistics personnel involved in fulfilling your order.
  • Payment providers and financial institutions used to verify transactions.
  • Technology, hosting, communications, ERP and security providers acting on our instructions.
  • Meta Platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, when you choose to interact with us through those services.
  • Professional advisers, regulators or lawful authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

We expect service providers that process personal data for us to protect it and use it only for the agreed service or as required by law.

Your rights and data deletion

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to exercise your data protection rights, including the right to:

  • Be informed about how your data is used.
  • Access personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Request erasure of eligible personal data.
  • Receive portable data where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Raise a concern with Kenya’s Data Commissioner.
